Description of the project: "SOLVING THE ELASTO-PLASTIC ROLLING CONTACT BETWEEN ROUGH SURFACES, I.E. RUNNING-IN PROCESS. THIS PHENOMENON LEADS TO LOCAL MICRO-PLASTICITY, DEFORMED PROFILES AND RESIDUAL STRESSES, WHICH ARE KNOWN TO DECREASE THE RELIABILITY OF THE ROLLING ELEMENTS. THREE-DIMENSIONAL ROLLING CONTACT ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED BY USING A COMBINATION BETWEEN CONJUGATE GRADIENT METHOD AND SURFACE APPROXIMATIONS BY THE FFT. THEORETICAL RESULTS WERE COMPARED WITH EXPERIMENTAL ONES WITH EXCELLENT AGREEMENT."
